Mrs. Omolara Taiwo-Ogunbodede is a trained lawyer by profession. She graduated from the University of Ado Ekiti , (formerly Ondo State University ) in 1997 with a Second Class (Upper Division). She thereafter attended the Nigerian Law School where she also graduated with honours in the Second Class (Upper Division). She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Purchasing and Supply from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply , United Kingdom.
Lara has vast experience in the Financial and Oil & Gas Sector. She began her career at the then Continental Trust Bank (now part of the UBA Group) as a legal officer and worked on several key transactions from where she gained invaluable experience in financial legal documentation, securitisation and drafting of various agreements. She joined her present employer, one of the foremost global players in the Oil & Gas Sector in 2001 as a Legal Counsel.
She possesses vast international experience in oil and gas negotiation having worked on and continues to work on multi-billion dollar projects, acquisitions, dispute resolution and management, financing agreements, EPC contracts, international commercial agreements and various forms of Host Government Contracts. She is a firm believer in the fact that legal solutions must be tailored to support the realisation of the organisation's goals, that is, proffered legal solutions must be balanced appropriately with commercial considerations.
Lara is passionate about empowerment in the workplace, integrity and sound work ethics, work-life balance and protection of the family unit and societal morals. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) UK.
She is happily married with children and enjoys gospel music and jazz, watching football, sharing with children, walking and mentoring.
