Dr. Ayotunde Adekoya is a seasoned and registered pharmacist based in the United States of America . He bagged his first degree in Biochemistry from the prestigious University of Ibadan , Ibadan , Nigeria . He later proceeded to the United States to enrol for Pharmacy. He obtained his Doctorate Degree at the University of Maryland , Baltimore in 1996. As part of his professional calling, Dr. Adekoya has held several positions in various medical organisations, among which is Pharmacy Manager, Rite-aid Pharmacy, Hyattsville , Maryland , where he was responsible for the management of pharmacy operations and personnel.
He was a Clinical Pharmacist at the Washington Hospital Center, Washington D.C, and also an Assistant Clinical Professor (Clinical Rotations), School of Pharmacy , University Of Maryland . He became the Clinical Co-coordinator, Greater South East Community Hospital, Washington DC, in the year 2002 where he was actively involved in the P & T Committee deliberations and decisions; as a coordinator, he was responsible for: developing and co-coordinating Pharmaceutical care rotations for Doctor Of Pharmacy candidates, providing educational In-service training to nursing and pharmacy staff on recent advances in pharmacotherapy, providing drug information and consults to medical and nursing staff among several other functions.
Dr. Adekoya who is happily married with children is a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), and a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators, and also the American College of Clinical Pharmacy all in the United States of America.
